Web 2.0 Week 6 Assigment

The assignment for this week is to create a Flickr account and post pictures to our blog. These are photos taken by my talented husband.

Here I am in NYC, in the chamber of the Security Council at the United Nations. That is my seat on the left, but for some reason, they thought that the "tourist" shot would be better for the family blog than and "action" shot. We took this shot over the lunch break, so the other delegates wouldn't try to sneak into the pic. The East Asian delegates are really photo-happy, so you really have to get them out of the room if you don't want them all crowding into the picture.

MLA Web 2.0 Week 1

I have completed all my assignments for the week. I created a "Dorsch Family Blog" to keep track of my far flung family and I'm hoping everyone will contribute.

The final assignment for the week is to comment on how RSS feeds might be used at my library. Most obviously, we use a blog to generate news for our home page. We also currently use a blog to mange our E-book collection. As the collection continues to grow, we may have to find a different format. We have another blog to communicate with our evenings/weekends student workers -- much more efficient than trying to leave paper notes.

Creation of the Dorsch Family News Blog

Hi Family,

I'm taking an online Web 2.0 and my first assignment is to create a blog.

I thought in preparation of having an even more dispersed family, we might be able to keep in touch through a family news blog!
